Día de los Muertos 19.10.2021

In Year 5/6, we have been looking at the celebrations of the day of day of the dead in Mexico as part of our Hola Mexico topic. After looking at lots of pictures of different skulls, we found out that the bright colours are used are to celebrate the lives of the people who have died. We made our masks using papier mache and thought carefully about which colours to use.

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican celebration of life and death. It is a national holiday celebrated every year during a three-day festival which lasts from 31st October until 2nd November. It helps families to honour their deceased ancestors.
