Children were challenged to make the ‘best’ film canister rocket. They had vinegar, water, sterident tablets and a film canister for their investigation. They had to use their knowledge of materials from previous science lessons to make a successful rocket. Children showed some fantastic resilience when it came to this task: some of the canisters just refused to launch! Children concluded that a broken tablet was most effective because of the bigger surface area available for the reaction with water.
