Dr Micklethwaite visits year 3 and 4

Today, Dr Micklethwaite came to our classes to tell us about our digestive system and fibre being good for our diet, keeping food at the right temperature and in the right place in the kitchen. Next, we talked about hand washing and had a go at washing out hands in the correct way.

We watched dr Micklethwaite talking toa patient in the doctors surgery who has a poorly tummy. We had to listen to the clues the patient gave us about her diet and her daily routine to find out why her tummy might be sore.

It turned out that the patient in fact needed a poo! She was constipated.

What the children said:

‘The activities were AMAZING!’ Amelie and Kimberley

‘Thank you Amy for coming today.’ Cavarli and Maia

‘We had a wonderful time learning about the digestive system.’ Summer and Sophie

‘Amy is a GP.’ Emma and Harvey [Well remembered! What does a GP do?]

‘Amy taught us how to was our hand properly. To wash your hands it should take 20 seconds.’ Ellis and Daisy

‘Amy showed a really good video.’ Corley, Louis and Eshat

  1. Thank you Dr Micklethwaite. It looks like you have not only helped the children in their understanding of the digestive system but also inspired some children to enter the medical profession!
