Well done everyone – So often children say ‘I know what I mean but I can’t explain it’. Using explanation and reasoning is essential to develop a greater understanding of maths. Pupils really understand when they can explain it to someone else. Refining our explanations is also a great skill for many other curriculum areas.
Just don’t ask me to explain the ‘off-side rule’. I will leave that to Mrs Hughes and Mr Whiteley!
