The House That Jack Built 2

A lot of our learning this week has been based around the rhyme ‘The House That Jack Built’

Some children have been using our reading tower as a quiet dark place to use torches and share books.

We’ve provided lollipop sticks and matchsticks to build houses of different shapes and sizes.

It’s great when children incorporate writing into their work such as making signs or adding labels.

Mrs Hobbs very kindly provided us with freshly cut willow to design our houses outside.

We introduced remote control cars to the children this week and they have enjoyed building roads and race tracks.

Sugar cubes have been added to the water table to build “long” igloo walls and “tall” igloo walls.

Shaving foam mixed with sand makes perfect mortar for brick laying – who would have thought!!

Of course, there are rats and cats and cows with crumpled horns in our rhyme and some children have been busy making costumes and masks.
