Today, a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils went to Northallerton Leisure Centre to compete in the Northallerton Schools’ Swimming Gala. There were four schools involved and Applegarth finished as the overall winners; they were each awarded a gold medal and a trophy to bring back to school. In addition, Charlie was awarded the MVP (Most Valuable Player) trophy. Each pupil also got at least two medals from the individual races and relays. Fabia had five medals around her neck and we could hear her jangling around school on her return. They competed with an excellent sporting attitude showing respect and determination. Mrs O’Toole said she was very proud of them. The pupils would like to thank Mrs O’Toole for her excellent coaching over the past four years with this team.
