  1. It was a lovely idea, and so nice to be a part of. We all had a wonderful time so thank you so much for organising it all.

  2. I just wanted to formally say thank you for inviting and hosting us this afternoon, from Northallerton College as a whole. Yourself, Justin, and the other staff that I spoke to were all really friendly and highly supportive of our musicians. The event had a lovely atmosphere and I’m proud that we were able to be a part of it. In addition, thank you for welcoming Daniel to perform the Last Post for you earlier in the day.

Our students clearly appreciated and enjoyed the opportunity to perform out in public, I could see it on their faces! I realised partway through that we haven’t been able to perform since COVID hit, so it was actually a very special moment for the musicians and I. It certainly meant a lot to me to see the students performing again, I really am proud of them.

Your alumni really valued seeing their teachers and support staff as well. Any visit that starts with, ‘That’s Mrs Rutherford, she is a legend!’ is always a good start!

Your service families all thanked the students and I as they left which was highly appreciated, I hope we’ve inspired some of the children to get involved further with their music making. It was amazing to see their faces as our students performed for them, I was really impressed by how they were ‘sucked in’ to each piece of music, they couldn’t keep their eyes off of the musicians.

I’m very excited for the future joint events and opportunities that we can develop. I’ll be in touch soon with ideas for bringing our musicians down to directly work with and perform alongside your children, I think that could be really powerful for all involved.

Please do forward any photos for us to use on our school website, and for your own uses, all of our performers were given permission for their image to be shared.

    Thanks again,
    Edd

  3. Good morning you hard working primary schools.

Thank you so much for all your hard work, raising a magnificent £3074.43 for this year’s Poppy Appeal – not forgetting the £6.60 in plastic coins from one school!

I congratulate you on the total and on the fact that you manage to fit this into a very busy schedule – and at a time when you are continuing to face many challenges. Can I thank you, also, for the warm welcome we receive when delivering to, and collecting from, your schools.

With best wishes for the rest of the term

    Maureen
