Pupils in Year 3/4 had a fun packed learning experience today. Adam, from Historic Workshops, came into school to share his expertise and passion for history. The children compared the skulls of different prehistoric human species; used metal detectors to find historic artefacts in archaeological boxes; practised archery and spear throwing; made prehistoric tools and learnt how to hunt a mammoth. It was a busy but engaging day and complemented our learning about the Stone Age perfectly.

What a great way to bring the Stone Age to life!
Freddie told us all about this when he came home. His favourite part was the archery he said. Thank you for providing these wonderful experiences for the children!
The children were so engaged. The skulls promoted a huge amount of discussion and the archery session showed the challenged faced by early man. It was particularly chaallengin for me; I missed the mammoth by a mile!
Max had a blast and enjoyed lots of the activities and came home full of the things he’d learnt 😁
Fantastic pictures. Zach is really enjoying this topic.
