Charles I is put on trial in Y3/4!

Year 3/4 have been honoured to have the very Royal King Charles I who visited to explain why he felt he was within his rights to raise taxes and how he disagreed with the rule of Oliver Cromwell and what he represented.

Children questioned him closely, asking the King how he felt when he was under house arrest in Porch House, Northallerton in 1647 and was he actually a traitor to his country…?

A HUGE thank you to the very royal Mr Chris Rowland who donned a wig and moustache and endured being on trial today to help us learn more about the significant events that happened in our local town!
