Artwork to commemorate D-Day!

Earhart class took inspiration from our Key Stage 2 assembly today to create thoughtful D-Day pictures using watercolours, mixing paints to make the colour of the English Channel and the Normandy beaches.

Misty clouds were added to indicate the early hour when American, British and Canadian soldiers left English soil and some stick men in the style of Lowry added a personal touch.

Children helped each other and took advice from their partners to make their pictures the best that they could be.

  1. I joined the assembly today and was impressed by the attitude of the children and concentration when listening both to the key facts and in trying to understand as best they could what life must have been like.
