Bumblebees reception Stay and play in the wildlife area

What a fantastic ‘stay and play’ session we had in our wildlife area! Thank you so much to our lovely parents for joining us in experiencing a forest school session.

We began the session by meeting at the logs where Miss Miller and Mrs Hobbs talked about the forest rules. We then listened to a story called ‘Not a Stick’ by Antoinette Portis. The children then had to go on a hunt and find an interesting stick. After that, using their imagination they shared all the wonderful ideas they had.

”Its a aeroplane’.

”It’s not a stick it is a race car”.

”It is a magic wand”.

”It is a fishing rod’.

We were then given the opportunity to explore the site, complete fairy activities and play.

Some children made fairy potions.

Others made their own little fairies to take away.

Finally we sat down and enjoyed a chatter whilst eating special biscuits made by the children that day and juice.

A fabulous day filled with sunshine, fun and memories.

  1. This was such a fun afternoon, and I loved the biscuits! Thank you for the invite, Charlie told me it was the best afternoon.

  2. This was a brilliant afternoon! The children were very well behaved and knew lots of things about the pond area. The teachers were very well behaved too!

  3. Thank you for having us join the class for Forest Friday. I really enjoyed seeing what goes on at school and all the great fun the kids have. Good opportunity for tree-climbing as well!
