What a super fun week we have had in the Bees class. The children have been learning about the book ‘Moth’ by Isabel Thomas.
We created a space in the classroom for children to investigate different types of animals. The children loved venturing to this ‘observation station’ and with additional resources such as, magnifying glasses and information books it was a big hit in our class.
During one session we talked about the vocabulary in the book. The children showed great interest with the word ‘camouflage’.
Can you spot the child?
The children sorted animals into groups.
We looked at the life cycle of a moth.
During ReflectED this week we learnt about feedback and how to use our ‘science eyes’ to support our learning. The team was so impressed with how the children could reflect on their own and others drawings. This was evident by the progress made by their final attempt.
A fabulous week Bees! I particularly liked the attempt at camouflage against the fence. It made me smile.
Thanks Miss Miller and the team.
What super scientists we have in the Bees with their scientists eyes! Well done everyone.

Lovely to see such a lot of activities from the book ‘Moth’ to support work on life cycles and animals. The whole school have really engaged with science week which seem to now be firmly embedded in our school calendar and learning. Here’s hoping we manage to inspire our children to be the next generation of scientists.
Great pictures – science week looks like it was a lot of fun!
