In the creative area this week we have been learning how to use powder paint. The children loved investigating and watching how the different colours blend to form other colours. In the class setting we used water to mix the paint however, at Forest Friday we used ice.
Learning in the classroom and outside – the same careful skills of mixing colours! I wonder if the ‘tones’ and ‘colours’ of a winter’s day affected their choice of colour or shade.

Miss Miller explained on Friday that the children were inspired by the books they had been reading in class. The muted colours in the illustrations had challenged them to take care and keep mixing beyond the messy ‘brown’ colour to get exactly the colours they wanted.
