Overcoming barriers in learning

This week’s Year 1/2 ReflectED lesson really got us thinking about times when we have been challenged in our learning (the barriers we face) and what strategies we use to help us.  I was so impressed with the children’s honesty and clarity on talking about specific emotions and times when they have faced difficulty and what they did to overcome these challenges.

  1. I visited both Puffins and Penguins classes on Friday afternoon to find both classes thinking about their barriers to learning.
I like the use of the red pen for barriers that may stop you learning and green pen (ways to ‘go’ forward). A simple but effective way to help all the children understand.
Well done both classes – I’ve also been hearing about how well they’ve been doing in their Grammar review last week. A great ‘mid year’ milestone!
