  1. Some great clips to help maintain the learning from the ReftectEd lessons. I’ve heard the children in the Bees classes talk about pulling themselves out of the pit!

  2. This week I taught the ReflectEd lessons in both Y3/4 Mrs Browne/Mrs Bramley’s class and Y5/6 classes. Using the Metacognition lesson planning from our EEF research project. In both lessons the children were able to articulate their feelings when new learning was taking place.
Y3/4 drew their own learning pits and annotated their thoughts about how they felt when something was difficult and how they felt having achieving it. Their illustrations showed how their body changed when out of the pit. Raising their arms, smiling and some even jumping. They are beginning to consider strategies linked to the learning. E.g to listen carefully for familiar words or phrases when trying to translate a new language or use a trial and error approach to building a 3 D structure as well as saying they need to ‘work hard’ or be ‘resilient’.
Finally Cerys Y6 wrote an amazing reflection on the challenges of horse riding. We will post her writing next week.
