Today in Puffins and Penguins we learnt about growth mindsets, with a little bit of help from two familiar cartoon characters Charlie and Lola. Lola was struggling to read so she decided to give up until she was older and wouldn’t bother going to school in the meantime. We thought about how she was feeling and what she might be thinking. The children didn’t think that Lola’s idea was such a great plan and came up with some suggestions about why it is important not to give up. We then reflected on our own mindsets and write about it. Rowan’s work in particular did make us smile. Mistakes are most definitely ok, whether they are deliberate or not!!

We often speak about our mindset at home due to lessons taking place at school. It is a really valuable lesson for the children to learn, that mistakes are ok because they show that they are trying. Wonderful learning
