Running and Reflecting

Today Penguins and Puffins linked work on PSHE, literacy and PE as well as ReflectED – no mean feat to achieve before playtime on a Friday!

We tried our first run, listened to advice from year 3/4 pupils who have been doing it for a while, then wrote about how the running made us feel. Finally we reflected both on our feelings before and after the run as well as how we felt about the piece of written work produced. It was brilliant to see how enthusiastic the children were about doing exercise, recognising the positive effect on their bodies and mind. It was also fantastic to see how automatically they linked their knowledge of growth and fixed mindsets to the activity.

Thanks to Mrs Hughes for inspiring us to do this activity and for allowing her children to speak to Penguins and Puffins about their experiences. The vocabulary they used and the way they spoke so articulately about the benefits was very impressive.
