The significance of Easter

Applegarth Primary School are very lucky to have many visitors who come to enhance our learning with their specialist knowledge.

Today, Donneta from All Saint’s Church, Northallerton, worked with children from all classes in her regular lunchtime friendship sessions then came to see Bell Class children to talk to us about the period running up to the Christian celebration of Easter.

Using prompts and props, the children helped her tell the story of the crucifixion.

Thank you, Donneta!

  1. Thank you Donneta – the friendship groups are fantastic and your lessons and assemblies are helping the children understand the importance of significant Christian Festivals.

  2. Another lovely session – thank you! I know how much KS2 enjoyed their assembly yesterday as well – thank you for bringing “half the church” with you and hope all those props weren’t too cumbersome!
