Violin Experiment

This afternoon we were lucky enough to have the Year 5 children give us an insight into their fantastic violin lessons the have with Mrs Jameson.  They sounded brilliant.

Inspired by the ‘where’s the science in that?’ question asking in previous blog posts the children were keen to explore how a violin produces sound.  They came up with fantastic science based answers using great science specific vocabulary such as: amplify, vibrate and reverberate.

Whilst engaged in the learning, the children were privy to an impromptu performance from two fantastic musicians who just happened to be wandering past the classroom!

  1. I would say one fantastic musician Mrs Bramley and one keen to learn. I would say I am not there YET. Mrs Bramley you demonstrated so clearly the joy in learning to play a musical instrument on Thursday. I have no doubt that you from your performance will have inspired some of our children.
