We have learnt abou the style of Pop Art and the artists Andy Warhol and Peter Max. We are using their ideas to make mixed media collages of Viking Longships.
We have used pastels and oil pastels for the sky. We splattered watercolour paint, created a water colour wash (wet on wet) and painted with water colour (wet on dry) to create paper to tear to make the sea.
to make the longships we used brown card and added shields and dragons using felt tips.
Next we made a 3D sail from paper and coloured it with pens and pencil crayons.
Once the paint is dry we will assemble our pictures. Look out for them on here!

It is great to see the children learn about artists and then get the chance to experiment with different techniques themselves.
What a great idea! I can’t wait to see the finished collages.
