Meet your JRSOs!

After a gruelling selection procedure, we are delighted to introduce you to your new Junior Road Safety Officers who will be working very hard over the next few months to help everyone be even safer when out and about. The JRSOs are extremely excited about their new role and can’t wait to launch their first competition on Tuesday morning during our celebration assembly. They’ve got lots of ideas so watch this space!

A big thank you to Kevin from NYCC who visited today to help explain the role in more detail to the children and to Mrs Fyfe for her ongoing support with the project!

  1. You all had some fabulous ideas on how to help everyone in school to keep safe on, or around our roads. Keep up the good work.

  2. Congratulations
I am looking forward to explain fully your role in assembly this week. Learning to keep safe beyond the school gate is important wherher it be out and about in the town or being safe on-line we want to make sure that our children have the skills needed.

  3. A big thank you to AT, BC, SW and CN for being our Junior Road Safety Officers. I think they will make a great team. Sadly there are accidents everyday on the roads of Great Britain so let’s all do our bit to keep our children (and everyone) safe.

  4. The children were able to explain articulately and confidently what their role entails.
They also launched their first competition linking to their first campaign – safe use of wearing seatbelts when in a car.
KS1 have a colouring competition and KS2 have been asked to design a poster to advertise safe seatbelt wearing. Children have also been asked to come up with a motto which links with seatbelts. Deadline 17th April so get your thinking caps (and seatbelts!) on children!

  5. I have a very excited JRSO in my class who is packed full to the brim with ideas and has been sharing them with me and the class. It was a great idea to get the children to apply for the post by writing a letter to!

  6. I think they have been doing very well with their jobs so far, they are amazing! They also made some activities for everyone in the school to do that looks very exiting to do.
