Safer Internet Day 2018

Mr Whiteley led a whole school assembly this morning teaching and reminding the children about being safe on the internet, and what it means to keep safe on the internet.  The children learned that keeping safe doesn’t only mean physically but keeping their mental health safe too.  The children will be learning more about internet safety in their classrooms.  I’m sure they will be able to discuss with people at home all about what they have been learning and could help others keep safe on the internet too.

  1. Being safe in this digital age is so very important. Remember you can’t control what happens to any comments, pictures or videos once you have sent them.

REMINDER: Parent workshop tomorrow – all welcome! 9am for coffee, cake and important online safety messages.

  2. Thank you to those parents who came to the workshop our PCSO Tracy Buchan (NSPCC & CEOP) was delighted with the responses from across the school. Feedback from the parents attending was outstandingly positive saying they had learnt so much about how to keep their children safe and how to be good role models as parents.
If you need further information or guidance please follow this blog and the E-Safety section for updates. Leaflets are also available in school. If you have any concerns do not hesitate to contact us and we are able to signpost you to additional support or guidance from our PCSO.
Remember before you post you need to …
    THINK
    T – truthful
    H – helpful
    I – inspiring
    N – necessary
    K – kind
The children are reminded of this in school as it is displayed around school.
Help your children by understanding this and modelling it as adults and you will find that your child learns to ‘say kind words and consider other people’s feelings’. Thanks to Mr Whiteley, Mrs Jackson and Tracy for all their hard work.
A special thanks to our Team Captains for writing a quiz for the children across the school to review their learning!
