Making healthy snacks

Galileo class made some fruity flapjack. As well as following the instructions, we had to do some clever maths, halving the ingredients for our smaller groups. We also learnt how to use the scales, and watched how butter, syrup and sugar changed with heat. We also learnt to make a ‘bridg’ shape to cut apricots and cherries. For some of us it was the first time we had seen desiccated coconut.

The best part of course was the eating!

Some of the children are keen to make these at home. It would be lovely to see some pictures either attached to the blog or stuck in homework books.
