Y3/4 children from Bell, Galileo and Darwin classes had an incredible visit to the Captain Cook museum this week. They learned all about Cook’s travels and his visit to Hawaii. They designed and made some incredible North American masks, inspired by real, life- size Totem poles. Children even saw a huge black bear (not real thankfully!) and discussed what creatures Native American tribes would have come across in Cook’s time. Children asked questions in a mature way, showing their interest and knowledge.
A huge thank you to Jenny and other staff at the museum.
Galileo class enjoyed making message sticks back in school.
Both classes had a fantastic visit. Combining learning outside, a visit to the museum and linked art workshop. You can see the children were engrossed in the art work.
